Before the machine starts
Power, gas and water have to be disconnected by the utilities before a building comes down, and many demolitions need a permit from the county or city. Anything that needs abatement is flagged before the job starts, not halfway through it.
Demolition and rebuild prep
Tearing down is often the first step of a rebuild. After the demolition the site can go straight into grading and site prep with the same crew.

Do I need a permit for demolition in Buncombe County?
