Why mountain drives fail
A gravel drive on a slope fails for two reasons: it was never based properly, or the water has nowhere to go but down the drive. Topping it with more stone every spring fixes neither. The drive has to be graded, crowned and given a ditch, a swale or a culvert so the water leaves it.

What it includes
What the job covers
- New gravel driveways
- Driveway regrading and repair
- Crowning and compaction
- Ditches, swales and culverts
- Washout and storm damage repair
- Parking pads and turnarounds
New drives and rebuilds
A new drive is cut to grade, based with the right stone, compacted and finished. A rebuild takes out the ruts and potholes, reshapes the surface, fixes the drainage and puts fresh stone down. Reviewers talk about it most: one called her road “hurricane-ravaged” before Ben rebuilt it.
Private roads and access
Longer runs — shared private roads, access into acreage, construction entrances — are the same work at a larger scale. See access roads and property entry.

My gravel drive washes out every time it rains. Can it be fixed?
Almost always. The fix is grade and drainage — crowning the drive and giving the water a ditch, swale or culvert — not just more stone.
Do you repair roads damaged by Hurricane Helene?
Yes. Washed-out drives and private roads are some of the most common work in WNC since the storm.
How long does a new gravel drive take?
It depends on length, slope and how much cutting it needs. Most residential drives are a matter of days, not weeks, once the weather allows.

ViewServiceGrading & Site Prep

ViewServiceExcavation
Foundations, trenches, utility lines, root balls and rock — dug to the right depth and backfilled so the ground settles once.
ViewServiceErosion Control
Slopes stabilised, banks armoured and water redirected so the next heavy rain does not take the yard, the drive or the creek bank with it.
ViewServiceRetaining Walls
Block retaining walls built on a real base, with drain pipe and stone behind them, so the slope they hold stays held.
ViewServiceDemolition
Structures torn down, debris loaded and hauled, and the site left clear and graded instead of a pile of rubble.
